Public Access Terminal Usage Procedures
- The user must hold a valid Western Counties Regional Library card, or a card from another Nova Scotia public library.
- Any other visitors who wish to use the public access terminals, but who do not have a library card, may book time upon presentation of valid identification.
- Computer time can be booked in minimum 1 hour time slots on the hour and half hour once in every 24 hour period. Booking may be done at the circulation desk, and advance bookings, including booking by telephone, are permitted.
- A user may continue past the hour if no one else is waiting for computer time to a maximum of 2 hours.
- A user who has pre-booked a time slot, and who is more than ten minutes late for the appointment, will forfeit the booking.
- A user with a booking must sign-up at the circulation desk.
- Not more than two people are permitted at a computer workstation at one time.
- Print-outs may be done for the user by the library staff. There will be a charge per 8½ x 11 sheet.
- Staff assistance with computer use will be given whenever time and knowledge permit.
- Misuse of the computer, including any violation of the Code of Ethics, will result in the loss of library privileges according to usual library procedures.
