Educator User Policy

A special class of membership with attending right and privileges has been established for Educators.

  • An educator is anyone who educates people (e.g.: home schoolers, teachers, literacy tutors, daycare workers, etc.)

  • Educators are given an extended loan period of six weeks for an unlimited number of materials.

  • Items may be renewed twice for a period of six weeks each time.

  • Educators will be notified at their place of work of any overdues following regular guidelines. Fines are not charged for overdue materials checked out on the Educator cards, but Educators are responsible for lost or damaged library materials.

  • Privileges will be withheld should charges reach a balance of $100, or the number of overdues exceed 10 items.

  • Privileges will be withheld should the number of items claimed returned exceed 10.

  • Violations to usage guidelines will result in the suspension of Educator privileges. The borrower may continue to use his/her personal card as long as all library requirements for the card are met.

Because of the special nature of the Educator category, the Educator does not qualify for Interlibrary Loan or Library Express service. These services are both available on the Educator’s personal card.
