The July 14th, 1879 minutes if the Hope Division No. 154 show the active role taken by Isaiah W. Wilson.

The listing of appointments shows that I.W. Wilson agreed to serve on the Finance, Visiting and Auditing Committees.

At the conclusion of the minutes, it is noted that a "thrilling speech" made by Brother W.L. Bakin was "followed by Brother I.W. Wilson in his usual eloquent and forcible manner".
