Salmon River, so named from the abundance of that precious fish found formerly in its waters, commences in Salmon River Lake, north west of Boar's Back and north of the Highway leading from Corberie past Hectanooga to Salmon River Village, and empties into St. Mary's Bay after a flow of about fourteen miles.
