The village of Hectanooga is situated on this highway about eight miles east of St. Mary's Bay and a short distance south of Salmon River. It is a milling and lumbering emporium, owned chiefly by Messers. Blackadar & Co., whose mills adorn the village. The Western Counties' Railway passes through Hectanooga, where a handsome depot is erected.
