Isaiah's home was originally located on the Leighton's property, in Smith's Cove,
Nova Scotia.
Through the generosity of the Leighton's, a portion of the home was
removed to build the Commemorative Display, in the lobby of the
Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library.

This plaque is located on the right side of the façade, it reads:
A portion of the façade of the house built for Isaiah W. Wilson by the Sons of
Temperance, has been preserved through the generosity of Jane and Alec Leighton
February 1999
"I used to see him about Smith Cove's roads during the 1920s. One of his legs was crooked but he
walked quickly, leaning on a heavy stick. He had a full beard. His voice was high pitched, almost squeaky,
and his eyes memorably blue. There would be dust from the road on his coat and trousers."
A.H. Leighton

The interior of the façade was designed by Western Counties Regional Library Deputy
Director Virginia Stoddard. Mounted on the interior are pictures of Isaiah Wilson and his house, a copy of his book,
and a picture of "a new generation of readers" standing in front of the newly opened Isaiah W.
Wilson Memorial Library.
