The Yarmouth Public Library and Museum has provided library services to the residents of Yarmouth since 1872. The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Library opened in June 1963 with funding from a bequest given by sisters Constance Killam and Elizabeth Rogers. The library was expanded in 1991 to the facility we have today. The Yarmouth Public Library and Museum provide the following services:

  • Yarmouth library facility, as well as the park and memorial wall to early Yarmouth settlers to the rear of the building.

  • Annual donation of $19,500 to the Yarmouth Branch of the Western Counties Regional Library for books.

  • Meeting room available to non-profit organizations.

  • Partial funding of the custodian for the building.

  • Funding for the data base for the Western Health Information Project.

  • Support to other library services in the Yarmouth area.

The Board of Trustees consists of 21 members
